Workshop 1 - Sustainable Home Design at NEV - What You Need to Know

For members, and their builder and architects Sat 18th Feb and Sun 19th

Times to be confirmed

  • Bring your Architect! Bring your Builder! Bring your friends! And don’t forget to come yourself!

All members have agreed to support the eco aspect of our village by ensuring our homes meet high environmental standards. So we developed our own building standards!

Now it’s time to explain in detail how our standards and appraisal system will work, and how you and your architect can create an awesome home design.

  • So please come to NEV’s Building Standards Workshop. Saturday 18th February between 10:00am and 2:00pm at the Visitors Centre

The event will be led by Graham Hunt, an architect of 25 years standing, who specialises in sustainable building design and environmental ratings.

Graham has worked closely with NEV to develop our building standards with the aim of minimising our environmental impact and improving the energy efficiency of the homes we will build here.

Focusing on Stage 1 lots, and with a little assistance from members of NEV’s Building Standards Working Group, Graham will explain what’s what in the Building Standards.

Topics include

  • What’s a Sustainable Design Appraisal?
  • How do you get your design endorsed by NEV Building Review Panel?
  • Design Innovative building? For sure!
  • Design tips?? For sure for sure!!

Sunday 19th February

There will be a follow up the next day, Sunday 19th February at the same time, if demand requires.  TBA
